Stefanie M. Hauck heads the Metabolomics and Proteomics Core at the Helmholtz Center Munich and holds a PhD in biology. Her focus is on understanding complex diseases by identifying protein-based system disruptions and defining protein/peptide signatures for disease progression and prediction. She began her career in mass-spectrometry-based proteome profiling within neuroscience and now contributes to interdisciplinary projects on phenotypes like diabetes, lung diseases, allergies, asthma, osteoarthritis, cardiometabolic diseases, and cancers. Her team works on all aspects of proteomics and metabolomics biomarker analysis pipeline, including study design and assay developments. Stefanie is opinion leader in plasma proteomics and integrated affinity proteomics into her lab’s portfolio of biomarker assays. She was elected president of the German Proteomics Society in October 2024.
